The Art of CYRUS
GARRIDO

Game Artist Portfolio
Self Introduction

Who am I?

I am Cyrus Garrido, an aspiring game artist, I am a versatile artist, specializing in concept art, which is where my strengths truly lie. I can transform imagination into visually compelling art that aligns with the story and world for which it is created. In addition to my specialization, I have experience in 3D work, including sculpting and animating characters. I always strive to deliver what is requested of me and more. When working with others, I commit my full effort to ensure I do not disappoint my team, but I am passionate in learning from my mistakes too if it means I can make even better works.

Reflection on PCK Results (I don't have my APQ): My PCK results show that I am a realistic person who is also investigative and artistic. Compared to a career as an artist, results show I am better in other roles such as an Astronomer or a technician and so on. Artist is the lowest in terms of my suggested career choices. I think that hurts, and I won't believe that I might be good in those suggested career choices, but no way am I going to stop pursuing an art career, However, I will keep in mind the skills and strengths that have been brought to my attention in the PCK results, these I can use when I do work in the industry as I can see myself being able to utilize them.

Reflections on: Masid-Danas, Suri-Nilay, Taya-Kilos, Ramdam-Pakiramdam

Masid-Danas:
I have learned that I am capable of much more than simply following instructions. I can try or should make a greater impact when working with others and contributing to our projects.

Suri-Nilay:
My past and present experiences have shown me that I can change; all it takes is a little push in the right direction. Sometimes, I get pushed too hard and stumble, but I always manage to pick myself back up because I want to pursue my passion. I used to be conflicted about what I wanted, but over time, I have grown more comfortable, interested, fascinated, and excited about the opportunities coming my way in this career. I know that there will be rough times ahead, and I have already faced many challenges. I wasn't much of an artist at the beginning of my college journey, but I continued to push myself, and now I find myself here, writing this.

Taya-Kilos:
I want to change my attitude toward my friends. I've noticed that the way I treat my friends and close ones affects the quality of our projects. I struggle to express that I want something more when it comes to our work. I’ve learned that it’s often better not to work with friends, but if you do, effective communication is essential. This way, both they and I can improve. There are things that others can see in you that you may not recognize in yourself, just as there are aspects of others that they may not see. Additionally, I want to enhance my leadership and communication skills so I can do better in team-related work, which will positively affect my future career.

Ramdam-Pakiramdam:
The implications of my actions necessitate that I prepare myself for the kind of work and environment I am entering. I need to ensure that my work feels natural to me. Of course, I need to gain experience first. College life provides a glimpse of possible relatable experiences, but once I truly enter the professional world, we’ll see how it goes.

Here students or anyone who enters the expo will get to playtest and give feedback on games the IET students have been working on and show off their work.
